Friday night we were stoked for our first adventure... But, with 5 different accidents on the freeway we couldn't make it to Light the Night in South Jordan. So we decided to turn around and take a quick detour to Smart Cookie in American Fork. Definitely got some ice cream in my hair for a candid pic but it was worth it.
Saturday was a BIG day for us. We went to the Christkindlmarkt in SLC (A German Christmas market) and seeing all of the Christmas festivities made us so happy! Saturday was also the perfect day to go out and adventure because the weather was in our favor. At Christkindlmarkt, we danced to a guy playing an accordion with his cute lederhosen on and singing the Chicken dance for all of the kiddos. Who says you have to act like a grown up all the time?
After dancing our chicken bums off we decided to wait in the longest line for some authentic Bratwurst sandwiches. SO GOOD. Who knew sauerkraut was not sour? We didn't! After we got our food, we listened to a children's choir sing... AKA David Archuleta's new song "Glorious." SO GOOD. We walked around to each booth set up with different kinds of jewelry, homemade caramel, homemade wood crafts and we saw Santa and Rudolph!!

Jaime definitely got to sit on Santa's lap (lucky girl) and he asked her what she wanted for Christmas! I definitely would've asked for some plane tickets so Yesmads can travel to anywhere we wanted! To end our trip at the Christkindlmarkt, we got a pic with Alyssa Chard - her mom is in charge of the entire market! We were super impressed by how many people showed up and all of the activities you could do. This is the Place Heritage Park sponsored the event!
After the German market, we stopped by Red Butte Gardens at the U for their Holiday Open House. They have a big botanical garden in the back and also a gallery of different art pieces, flowers and a glass showing as well. Too bad the flowers were all dead and the waterfall drip dropped hahaha. But, on the plus side - it was free! If the place you thought was going to be so rad and it's not - make it your own adventure with your friends!
We ended the night at the Provo Center Street Christmas Lighting. We got there right at 6:30PM as the Mayor, Santa and the Grinch were about to light up Center Street. The city of Provo definitely out did itself because they had fireworks and the whole shebang! There were a lot of new small businesses that we discovered downtown. For example, The Clothing Patch is a new fashion truck. & I might have bought myself a new sweater.... The regular food trucks were there, jewelry stands, and many more booths that were so fun!
So, in one Saturday we did 3 big things. The point of this story is that you can make an adventure out of anything. Even if you do get stuck in traffic, turn around and find an ice cream place you've never been to. Laugh with your friends and people who are close with you. Cherish those precious moments that don't happen quite too often in our busy lives.
Also, what you have all been waiting for! Our winners for the Yogurtland giftcards are @Courtbankhead and @mknielson9! Stay tuned for our next giveaway!
Stay Classy friends.
XOXO,
The Yesmads
